Colombia; Navy granted ex-S. Korean missile Corvette
| News - Asia |
South Korea is to donate a recently retired Po Hang-class corvette to Colombia as part of a drive to boost arms exports to the South American region.
Kun San (757) was decommissioned by the Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) on 29 September, having been active for some 27 years since entering service in 1984.
Most ships in the class were optimised for anti-submarine warfare operations, although second-of-class Kun San was one of four vessels optimised for anti-surface warfare tasks. Its armament consists of two MBDA MM 38 Exocet anti-ship missiles, an Oto Melara 76 mm gun and two Emerson 30 mm anti-aircraft guns.
